We’re proposing to build new council homes at the Seavington House site as part of our commitment to providing more quality council homes across the borough. We’ve committed to creating 11,000 new council homes by 2043 – a big goal, but crucial if we’re going to tackle the housing crisis and ensure our residents have quality homes they can be proud of, now and in the future.

The scheme is currently in planning and it is anticipated that a decision will be made by the planning committee whether to grant permission to build the homes during the summer.

If permission is granted to build the new homes we would like to carry out some estate improvements on the Champion Hill Estate which includes works to improve the existing play area.

We have a limited budget so this could affect the scope and type of improvements which could be carried out.

The area where the improvements could be carried out is within the red dashed line boundary shown on the map below.

We would like to hear your views

1. What changes or improvements would you like to see in this area?

For example, seating, planting, paths and pavements, lighting or would you like the existing play area to be improved.

2. Are there external areas you feel could benefit from security improvements?
